Hong Tian Office Building Renovation

Project Overview

This renovation converts a long-abandoned, five-storey concrete shell in Guangzhou's Dashi District into a contemporary workplace hub. Only fragments of the façade are visible from the main street, so the design splashes those sight-lines with vivid colour, ensuring the building announces itself despite its tight urban frontage.

Design Concept – “Constructive Collisions”

The design scheme celebrates contrasts: past with future, dark with bright, rigid with fluid. The existing rectilinear concrete grid remains as the structural sketeton: sweeping, brightly coloured curves and perforated metal panels-back-lit to glow at night-slice through it to signal thresholds such as the main entry and the elevator core.
